Overview
Mastertec is a Nicaraguan company that sells computer equipment and accessories, from consumer gadgets to hardware upgrades for large businesses. Its website looked more than a decade old, didn't reflect the brand, couldn't take orders, and relied on an unsupported third-party platform. On top of that, what it showed online didn't match its real inventory. Through TecnoTool, the company I work for, I led the rebuild from scratch.
As Tech Lead of a 3-person team, I chose Next.js for the frontend, designed the backend architecture with Node.js, Express, and Prisma, and integrated Strapi for brand content. The backend syncs products and categories from the external inventory system, the team enriches and publishes them from a dashboard, and customers can now pay online. The site is in production with 400 active users, and the same foundation now powers Suministros Integrales, its sister company.
