Overview
Fincorp is a Managua-based microfinance company offering fast loans for salaried workers, personal expenses, and microbusinesses. Its website had been abandoned: it mixed Elementor and WPBakery, its visual identity looked distorted, its pages were irregular, navigating it was confusing, and its performance was terrible. On top of that, page errors hurt its indexing, so it had almost no online presence.
Through TecnoTool, the company I work for, I designed and built the site on my own in 4 weeks. To do it, I created a custom Gutenberg theme from scratch with TypeScript, Sass, and Vite, also meant as a template for the company's future projects; it now powers other sites, such as Veterinaria Raymari. The result loads in 1.9 s, scores 100 on Lighthouse SEO, and is still in production with ongoing support.
The Problem
Distorted visual identity
Irregular pages
Terrible performance
Mix of page builders
Confusing navigation
Indexing errors
The Solution
Custom Gutenberg theme
One block system, no page builders
Design system in theme.json
Consistent identity and pages site-wide
Partial page redesign
A clearer path through the loan options
Technical SEO
Error-free pages, indexed on Google
Design
I redesigned the pages that needed it most and set up a design system in theme.json, with colors, margins, and spacing that bring consistency back to Fincorp's identity on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
